Demonstration Allotment
The BOG allotment is at the Lower Common (map, aerial photo) allotments site and is entirely run by volunteers.
Started in 1990 (and still very much a work in progress) the allotment has vegetable plots, soft fruit, tree fruit, ponds (including a dipping platform), forest garden, an orchard, sheds, polytunnels, greenhouse, treebog (loo), a play area & composting area.
The allotment is open twice weekly: Saturday 10:30 - 13:30 and Tuesday 9:00 - 13:00 for volunteers to come along and lend a hand (and drink some tea!)
There are also open days throughout the year and occasionally courses are hosted there. If you wish to arrange a visit outside these times please contact a member of the committee.
